Western Philosophy
The science have three forceful research interests¡ª¡ªnamely, Jewish
philosophy and Arabic philosophy lead by professor Fu Youde(doctorial
director) and professor Cai Degui£¨doctorial
director£©, Anglo-American
philosophy lead by professor Liu Jie(doctorial
director) and assisted by professor Chokr(doctorial
director),
professor Wang Shanbo(doctorial
director)
and associate professor Huang Qixiang, and European
Continental philosophy lead by professor Fu Yongjun(doctorial
director)
and assisted by associate professor Li Zhangyin, associate
professor Wang Jinsheng and lecture Chen Zhiguo.
These three research interests all keep in touch and
frequent academic communications with academic fields both
home and abroad. On the one hand, we invite renowned foreign
scholars to give a lecture in our school. And on the other
hand, our scholars are also invited to give lectures abroad.
We have sponsored international academic meetings and always
go abroad to attend important international academic meetings.
We are active to both sponsor and attend all kinds of academic
meetings relative to foreign philosophies at home. We have set
up frequent contact with famous universities at home, such as
Peking university.
In terms of educating students, we constantly reform
the course of study, pay much attention to the quality of
teaching, reinforce the ability to teach in English and both
in English and Chinese. We have finished the reformation of
the teaching programs of doctors, masters and of
undergraduates, which made the teaching program correspond
with the development of academic researches and have
strengthened the inherent characteristics of steadiness and of
quality-stressing. More
remarkably is the fact that we have set up the fluid
postdoctoral research station in five years.
In terms of the construction of hardware, we have made
a great progress in the constructions of multi-media, network,
library, classroom and of office by the base of humanities and
social sciences of Ministry of Education and by the first two
terms of Innovation Base of the Program of 985 in the sprit of
economy and efficiency. Therefore we have provided a
comfortable and relaxed environment for both academic research
and teaching.
